The project concept is derived from a typological hybrid between a corporate space and a co-working. In effect it engages the idea of merging a design coherence and users plurality. The project won a special mention for the Contech Award about automation in architecture and has been selected for 3 books about professional spaces. In effect most of the project is managed with a computer and a badge system controlling lighting and access on the different spaces in accord with users profiles.
“Toolbox is a professional office located in Torino, Italy in an industrial space.
The aim of this design is to create a cohesive design concept that still embraces the diversity of the work group. The designer modulated similar volumes with different materials including cork and rubber. This approach allowed the designer to create a variety of spaces with different levels of function and privacy.
The lobby features 400 undulating cubes, and cute icons were designed and placed next to rooms to indicate that room’s function.”
