nunawading station

designed to improve the transportation infrastructure at the former tunstall station opened in 1888, the renamed 'nunawading station'
by international firm grimshaw architects upgrades safety and commute times for the 50,000 vehicles and 218 daily trains in the eastern suburbs of melbourne. originally crossing the transverse springvale road, the railway drastically impeded the flow of traffic. the new
scheme layers each facet of public transport, separating them to streamline fluidity and making them equally accessible through efficient
architectural urban planning. the renovated interchange facility includes an elevated concourse, pedestrian connections, and bus interchange facilities.
