Carroll Gardens Row House

This small house is enlarged by connecting it to the outdoors. At the garden level, we replaced the rear wall with storefront glass and ran continuous bluestone flooring and stucco walls inside and out, turning the little garden into an outdoor room, while visually extending the living spaces. The skylit cherry stair spreads to palatial width as it lands in the living room. Daylight filtering down a stone tiled wall makes a tiny meditation room sublime. And a teak shower floor recalls a beach-house deck.
