We did this window sill planter a while ago from poplar wood leftover from a project. We coated it with flat black paint and used to grow wheat grass for a wile... I looked nice, but the life span of the grass was too short. Later we used to hold tea light candles with tiny white stones. We liked that but after reading Apartment Therapy June month on succulents we decided to start a collection and use the planter to display it. This is how it looks. We love it!
