One designer and writer is typing her part to help the movement to recognize Austin as the hub of Texas design. As the owner and lead designer of a fresh new design studio (Design + Stuff) in Austin and the writer and producer of two local design blogs, recent Austin implant Adrienne Breaux has the unique position of being the person both creating environments and commenting on them.
ifdaustin.blogspot.com, also known as "All Things Austin Design" is a daily blog dedicated to seeking out great Austin design or places to get good design and dispensing it to the masses. The blog is a great tool for the Austin design community and those interested in infusing their homes with Austin' signature style. Breaux hopes to spread the word of the blog past Austin and to the rest of the country, to deliver Austin's certain brand of design to others.
adesignerfriend.com is both a local and national tool created by Breaux to help dispense design advice in a more affordable and easy way. Clients with design questions or problems can send Breaux an email and for a small fee, she'll create a customized design solution and send it back. It's that simple. No long, complicated or drawn-out projects and no annoying buying trips. Just a simple answer to a complicated design question, for a lot less than a other interior designers.
More information on Breaux's design studio Design + Stuff can be found on her personal web site, adriennebreaux.com. A graduate of Louisiana State University with a B.A. in Interior Design, she also had the opportunity to write continuously for LSU's award-winning student run newspaper "The Reveille" and their magazine "Legacy". Her writing can currently be found on her daily blogs, the craft magazine "Nibama Homemade" and an upcoming issue of local Austin magazine Odic Force.
