Bugaboo: an investment
When we got the bugaboo frog 2 years ago, I already had plans to sell it on ebay after we were done with it. The time is now.
I was hoping to recover some of the $789 initial investment. $350 would've been nice. Boy, I was wrong. The stroller ended selling with a bid war, gazillion questions and never ending requests of local pickup for $600 plus $60 shipping. So I used the bugaboo (which I still think is the iphone of strollers) for 2 years, took very good care of it and paid only $189 for 2 years and 3 months of service. You can't get that with a Graco or Quinny!

You can tell I love mid century furniture by these prints!
We've been working on this project for almost a year now, compiling our own digital photographs and also creating digital prints. We are still deciding on how we are going to mount them, as they are 11 x 17. One idea was to attach them on 1/2" plywood and add 4 long hex screws, fender washers and nuts to raise them from the wall. These will be available soon at a very reasonable price. Stay tunned!

my problem with clocks.
I reaaaaally need help.
These are for a "wall of clocks" that I'm planning doing on fall. Replacing those green panels on the living room with floor to ceiling painted panels in 4' x 8' size with aluminum connectors. I looks awesome in my mind. Let's see how it translate! ; )

This collection of lamps in opal glass by Finnish designer Harri Koskinen goes back to basics. Pur reflects the Nordic tradition of simplicity and reliability to create soft and elegant lighting effects.

light transmitting concrete
Litracon™ presents the phenomenon of light transmitting concrete in the form of a widely applicable new building material. Litracon™ is a combination of optical fibres and fine concrete. It can be produced as prefabricated building blocks and panels. Due to the small size of the fibres, they blend into concrete becoming a component of the material like small pieces of aggregate. In this manner, the result is not only two materials - glass in concrete - mixed, but a third, new material, which is homogeneous in its inner structure and on its main surfaces as well. Thousands of optical glass fibres form a matrix and run parallel to each other between the two main surfaces of each block. The proportion of the fibres is very small (4%) compared to the total volume of the blocks. Moreover, these fibres mingle in the concrete because of their insignificant size, and they become a structural component as a kind of modest aggregate. Therefore, the surface of the blocks remains homogeneous concrete. In theory, a wall structure built from light-transmitting concrete can be several meters thick, because the fibres work without almost any loss in light up until 20 meters.
Marcel Breuer Wolfson Trailer house
Located in Duchess County, New York, the 10-acre property is an architectural assemblage composed of Marcel Breuer’s Wolfson Trailer House and a separate artist’s studio.
Commissioned and constructed from 1949-1951, Breuer's house surrounds a 1948 Royal Mansion Spartan Trailer. This unique element complements the iconic Breuer details, including the cantilevered core and open fireplace that illustrate his visual and spatial vocabulary. The interior weaves throughout the trailer and into the house, giving a sense of layered complexity.
Accenting the Wolfson house is a 1960 artist's studio by Tip Dorsel, commissioned by the original owner and designed in dialogue with the Breuer structure. The studio features a large workspace as well as storage, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen.
Sited among vast acreage of natural landscape, the accumulative and varied structures create an unparalleled composition of architecture and space.

Through excessive decoration, I examine the way we perceive domesticity and the contemporary home. The floral patterns I employ in my work are inspired by the patterns that appear on both printed and embroidered textiles. The patterns also borrow from contemporary advances in digital textile production that eliminate the need for repeat patterning. Floral patterned textiles have often played a crucial role in the creation of the home, yet the rise of Modernism relegated these patterns to the margins. The removal of floral patterned textiles from the home parallels the devaluation of domesticity and femininity in interior decoration. However, the recent outburst of floral patterned objects coincides with a renewed interest in the home.
By recreating furnishings and pillows using floral patterns rendered in steel wire, I eliminate the need for internal structure. Each object becomes a visual signifier of the ideals of the home, rather than a functional object. The loss of function highlights the tension between comfort and display in the contemporary home. I eliminate conventional indications of comfort such as padding and fabric through the use of steel. While my living room is intended for display, it creates the illusion of an inviting, comfortable space, through the articulation of subtle, curving surfaces.

Cut, by a laser, from a single sheet of steel this lamp is then bent into shape by hand.
The steel reflects the light, and bending it to different degrees can create different effects.
The sheet steel creates an interesting frame, making a feature of the light bulb itself, instead of hiding it. You just need a nice looking lightbulb (25W/220V).
