Apple TV. a real solution for a problem we didn't know we had

This was a prize we won from Apartment Therapy and The Smallest, Coolest Tech which was a contest for all small apartments and homes under 1000 sf worldwide, who have an ingenious set up for either their a. home office or b. Audio/Video situation. They were seeking the most ingenious submissions along with tips and resources we could all use to maximize our own home tech setup.

First of all, it's tiny! I like to hide all my components but this one is actually staying on sight! Really flat, it looks like a well made industrial design piece!

Interface is super snappy. Faster than my mini downstairs running front row. Set up was a zip! plug in, punch the code on your computer and enjoy! It took me longer to wire the tv behing the wall with the HDMI cable (I had pre-wired for DVI to HDMI but one cable for digital audio and video is worth the drama.) I was in no time, enjoying my music, photos, Isabella's videos and more. As an added bonus, on the movie section, you have movie trailers! That's great!!! you can browse and browse all those movies to know what to watch/buy or rent.
One thing I really didn't anticipate was the fact to replace our DVD player without having to open an itunes account and buy movies. What we do now is, as soon as we get the movies from Netflix, we let the computer rip the 3 movies in DVD quality, load them in itunes, synch and play it from the Apple TV. So no actual DVD needs to be at home and once in a while, we slack on one movie that stays sitting on our drawer for weeks... not anymore. Receive it - Rip it - Return the movie - Play once or twice at your leisuire. That way you can get your 3 movies on time!!!

Anyway, we are very happy with this little device and with the addition of YouTube in mid June, it will be greatest! I'm sure that more features will be added with time (as internet radio, other video fees and the ability to record media)

Highly recommended...
