Cross Coffee Table

Matthew Hilton shuns the concept of design as fashion, and prefers instead to think of the design process as a part of the evolution of any object through history. The result is a quality of timelessness, which is especially true with his Cross Coffee Table (2006), designed exclusively for DWR. Crafted of solid oak, the base of the table is a carefully considered assembly with every piece serving a purpose, from supporting the tabletop to providing stable footing. Where the pieces cross, the wood intersects for added strength. The tempered glass top has smooth rounded edges and the glass is clear to enable unobstructed viewing of the base below. Due to the natural characteristics of solid oak, there may be variation in wood color and grain.
