New! The Ribbon coat rack.

Ribbon is a wall-mounted coat rack. Inspired by a ribbon blowing in the wind, it attempts to bridge the gap between function and art - it is a practical, everyday storage solution when in use, and sculptural wall art when free from coats. That is why it is designed for the family and can hold 5 coats, plus scares, umbrellas, etc.
Handcrafted in India, and made from powder-coated mild steel, Ribbon is available in 5 colours and comes with matching screws for a seamless finish.

The Lockheed Chair takes its inspiration in one of the 21st century design
icon : the Ray & Charles Eames DSW.
With an aggressive design and a strong identity, it seduces thanks to its
overall harmony that emerges, despite the existent contrast between inner
curvy shape and the outside geometry.

Table B

Konstantin Grcic opens the Extrusions collection which he has designed for Bd Barcelona design with this table, baptised as Table B. Its name is as simple and technical as the design itself. Grcic has been inspired by classic Bd pieces, such as the Hypóstila shelf unit (in production since 1979), in developing a tabletop of extruded aluminium with a minimal profile and for lengths of up to 360 cm. It is offered in various finishes and with three models of legs. Suitable for indoor and outdoor areas. Its apparent simplicity hides a complex technical development in which senior engineers have been involved. In counterpoint, the production also includes several manual processes. The result is a highly crafted piece with all the character of the German designer.

My New Nelson Criss Cross Bubble Lamp by Modernica

So, I got my Nelson Criss Cross Bubble lamp for our dinning area and it's replacing our aging Norm 69 that used to be there.
There's so much craftmanship on this lamp. The material, which looks like a stretched fabric with a plastic coating gives a wonderful glow that let's you see the armature of wires underneath.

DIY Wireless Speakers using Apple Airport Extreme with Airtunes!

I'm just done creating my wireless speaker system. I wanted to being able to stream my digital music anywhere in the home... in the bedroom, the backyard... even the bathroom!
This system is really portable and you are able to stream music wherever you have a AC outlet.
This is how it works.
Assuming you already have all your music in digital format and you are using iTunes, of course, the rest will be pretty easy.

First of all, you need to buy the Airport Express with AirTunes. This is the "heart" of the system. AirPort Express Base Station, now with 802.11n wireless. you can create a wireless network at home or add it to your existing one. Enjoy your iTunes music library in virtually any room of your house. Play the music from your computer's iTunes library through a set of speakers or stereo in just about any room in your home — wirelessly. The Airport Extreme with Airtunes has a audio aux output. This is the only port you are going to use.

Part 2 is actually selecting up the speakers. Any computer powered speakers will do it. I'm using JBL "Spot" speakers with a subwoofer and 2 side speakers because the sound is awesome. you can see my prior use of the speakers here (for Apartment Therapy's contest) and I bought a second set just for this project.

Where to hide all the components and make it look neat and go with our current decor? We used Kartell Componibili in bright red.
Having the sliding doors (that later will be replaced with black mesh for the speakers) make sense for closing them when not in use and the size was perfect for my JBL speakers.
Since I didn't want to place the speaker on the floor, we found a vintage Bose 901 stand on craigslist for $20. It looks perfect and gives the Componibili a more upscale appeal.

Performance is great. To control everything, in iTunes, you set your speakers as the Airtunes one, then, using the free apple Remote application on your iphone... you can control volume, playlist, forward, etc, etc.... and it even shows the album art on your iphone.

The system proved itself as a total success this past 4th of July BBQ party. We moved the speaker outside for the grilling time and then to the kitchen for prep/cooking and later for the dinning room. I've been rocking internet radio on our bedroom and even the bathroom while taking long, long showers. If you have itunes, this is a must.
